Here are the steps in calculating or computing your BMI:

First, you need to divide your weight in pounds by your height in inches squared. Afterward, you need to multiply the results by a conversion factor of 703.

For example, a person is 5 feet and 5 inches tall. To input this into the formula, we need to convert 5 feet into inches and add the other 5 inches. This would give us a total of 65 inches.

Next, if the person weighs 150 pounds, all we need to do is place the data into the formula: [150 ÷ (65)2] x 703 = 24.96.
