Claudine Bautista Clarifies Her Side On ‘Lavish’ Wedding Issue

Claudine Bautista has this reaction to the criticism she received after her wedding photos surfaced online

The lawmaker caught the attention of the online community just recently when her wedding photos surfaced on social media. Many popular personalities criticized her for “spending” too much for the event amid the pandemic as critics pointed out that many people are suffering right now and that drivers of public utility vehicles are greatly affected.

One of the personalities who criticized Rep. Claudine Bautista was Kapamilya actor Enchong Dee. However, the actor apologized for what he said against the lawmaker.

In line with this issue, based on the article in PEP, the congresswoman has broken her silence. She clarified that what was spent for her wedding was the result of the hard work of her husband Jose French “Tracker” Lim, the son of the car franchise business owner in Davao, who wanted her to experience the best day of her life as a bride.

“My husband has been planning this special day with me for years even before the pandemic, and it pains us to see how things after our wedding turned out. This was supposed to be the culminating event of a decades-long love story,” Bautista said in her statement.

She also clarified that she had no intention of showing the details of her wedding to the public. It just so happened that her wedding gown designer Michael Cinco has “mistakenly” posted the photos on social media.

Rep. Claudine Bautista said that the Filipino Dubai-based designer has already apologized for this. She also stressed that she is doing her responsibilities as a congresswoman.

The lawmaker said that she even donated to the drivers and commuters amid the pandemic from her own money. She also said that she does not want to answer the criticisms coming from “people of influence” and she will leave everything to her legal team.
