NBI Operatives Arrested Fake Doctor Operating in Quezon City
The operatives of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) have arrested a fake doctor who was found illegally operating in Quezon City.
Hazel G. Pablo, alias Hazel Pablo Laniog, was identified as the suspect by NBI Officer-in-Charge (OIC) Director Eric B. Distor. The operation began after Pablo protested that he was introducing himself as a Doctor of Aesthetic Medicine, according to Distor.
Pablo allegedly used the victim’s name, signature, and license at the newly opened ZSS MEDICARE INC./ZELAH SKINCARE STATION (CLINIC) in San Antonio 1, Quezon City, according to a licensed doctor’s complaint. Distor went on to say that the arrest against Pablo took place earlier this August and that an NBI agent claimed that he perform medical treatment.
For the procedure, Pablo allegedly requested up to P50,000 in compensation. Pablo’s three employees admitted to running the clinic illegally. Pablo is accused of breaking the Medical Act of 1959, the Food and Drug Administration Act of 2009, estafa, and the Revised Penal Code’s article 172.
Meanwhile, a dental technician was arrested in an entrapment operation after pretending to be a registered dentist in Barangay Quinavite, Bauang, La Union. The entrapment operation took place right inside the suspect’s house where his clinic is located. This is related to the complaint of the Philippine Dental Association-La Union (PDA-LU).
The suspect is said to be pretending as a dentist and operate without a license and permit. He was arrested while trying to extract a tooth from a police asset.
