5 Cops Alleged Suspects of Kidnapping and Burning Female Online Seller Arrested
The Philippine National Police Anti-Kidnapping Group (PNP-AKG) arrested four out of five cops allegedly suspects for kidnapping and burning a female online seller in Nueva Ecija.
Three police officers and a citizen have been detained and are now in the custody of the PNP-AKG for allegedly kidnapping and burning online jewelry seller Nadia Casar. Casar’s burned body was discovered in Sitio Pinagpala, Barangay Imelda Valley, Palayan City, Nueva Ecija, according to the report.
They were identified as PSSg. Benedict Reyes of Santa Rosa Municipal Police Station, PSSg. June Malillin of Palayan City Police Station and PCpl. Julius Alcantara of the Police Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PPDEU) of the Nueva Ecija Provincial Police Office. Reyes was arrested on Thursday, while Malilin and Alcantara were arrested on Saturday.

They also departed right after the transaction but were stopped along the way by five armed guys in a pick-up truck and two motorcycles. Two more men with pistols, riding two motorbikes, came to a halt at the back of the pick-up and his car.
The other men boarded Mark’s vehicle with Casar still inside while Mark was escorted to the pick-up. Mark informed police that the gunmen grabbed his smartphone and P4,500 cash after taking him and Nadia to what appeared to be a safehouse.
The armed men allegedly told Casar to approach her family for money in exchange for her freedom, according to Mark. Before the driver was released back in Brgy. Tagpos, where they were taken, Mark and Casar were allegedly transported to another safe house, according to the AKG.
Mark later contacted Casar’s family, who then informed the AKG about the occurrence. On the afternoon of July 24, members of the AKG were able to locate the safehouse in Brgy. Tagpos thanks to information provided by Mark.
Police Master Sgt. Rowen Martin and Police Staff Sgt. Drextemir Esmundo, who have also been charged with violating Article 267 of the Revised Penal Code (Kidnapping and Serious Illegal Detention), are the others allegedly implicated in the crime. The PNP, on the other hand, promised that the officers involved will face consequences.
