After seeing the hit-and-run, the enforcer allegedly attempted to track down the perpetrator. The hit-and-run victim was named as George Alcalde y Andan, 16, who was riding his bicycle when he was hit by the uncaring driver-suspect, according to the police report.
On the scene, a Macmelan on a motorcycle pursued the suspect. Instead of surrendering quietly to the responding traffic authority, the suspect drove away, but his car became caught in traffic, according to Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau (MTPB) director Dennis Viaje.
The guy then exited his vehicle, drew his pistol, and fired a shot at the traffic cop. On the traffic enforcer down, the suspect took advantage of the situation and drove away with the traffic enforcer’s motorcycle, abandoning his four-door vehicle with the license plate number AAD 3929.
The tough traffic cop was brought to Tondo General Hospital for treatment, where he is now stable and out of danger, according to the Manila Police District. A large police manhunt is already underway for the motorist.
