Motorists Struggle As Checkpoints In Manila Causes 1Km Long Traffic
CHECKPOINTS IN MANILA – Due to the Delta Variant, checkpoints in Manila were put up, but, motorists aired dismay as it causes 1Km long traffic.
Several guidelines were implemented as Metro Manila goes into another round of lockdowns. Starting from August 6 to 20, Metro Manila will be placed under an enhanced community quarantine.
This would be the third time the province is placed under the strictest quarantine in the country. According to an article from Philstar, this ECQ would allow road, rail, maritime, and aviation sectors.
However, due to the presence of the Delta Variant, checkpoints to cities and borders were implemented. Among these checkpoints was in the boundary of Caloocan.
According to a Redditor “u/sndcloud”, the checkpoint in Caloocan’s boundary caused a 1Km long traffic going into San Jose del Monte, Bulacan.
For some netizens, the checkpoints are a waste of time and resources. Furthermore, for public transport, longer periods inside an enclosed vehicle would not be a good idea.
