Jinkee Pacquiao corrected her previous post for Hidilyn Diaz
Socialite Jinkee Pacquiao apologized for using the wrong flag emojis in her post for Pinay Olympic gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz.
The Pinay weightlifter grabbed the first-ever gold for the Philippines in the prestigious sports event that was held in Tokyo. With this, the whole country is celebrating and a lot of prominent personalities shared their message for Hidilyn.
Among the celebrities who reacted to the historic win of the Pinay athlete was Jinkee Pacquiao. Through her Instagram Stories, she shared a video that was taken during the awarding ceremony. However, netizens noticed that the wife of Senator Manny Pacquiao used the wrong flag emojis.
Jinkee used emoji for the flag of Sint Maarten, a small country in the Caribbean. Although the two flags have the same red, blue, and white colors, they differ on what was inside the white triangle.
The emblem of Sint Maarten’s coat of arms is the figure that can be seen inside the white triangle in Sint Marteen’s flag while the Philippine flag has three stars and a sun.
Many netizens called out the attention of the socialite for posting the flag emoji of another country. In the recent Instagram post of Jinkee Pacquiao, she apologized for this along with her congratulatory message for the Pinay weightlifter.
“Congratulations Hidilyn Diaz. You make us proud! Pasensya na po sa mali na flag ang napindot ko sa ig stories ko kahapon. forgive me #philippines ) That was unintentional. Love you all! God is good!” she wrote in the caption of her post.
