Actress-singer Nikki Valdez shared her reaction to the recent “lipatan” issue that involved some former Kapamilya stars.

These past months, several big names who came from ABS-CBN transferred to other networks. Because of this, those who decided to have their “lipat bakod” are being criticized. Those who are loyal Kapamilya stars are questioning the loyalty of these stars whose careers were able to blossom with the help of the media giant.

In a recent interview, based on the article in PEP, Nikki was asked about former Kapamilya stars who already signed contracts with other networks. She said that she is in no position to judge the career moves of those celebrities.

“I think we have to respect their decision. It’s not for us to judge them. May kanya-kanya naman kasi kaming stand, kung bakit lumipat… Kami naman, it’s our choice to stay in the company,” Nikki Valdez said.

She stressed that she has nothing to say about it because “to each his own”. The actress-singer added that people just need to respect the decision of those who transferred.

For the Kapamilya supporters’ undying love, Nikki shared this message: “Wala akong ibang sasabihin kundi malaking pasasalamat. Kasi totoo naman, kung wala sila, kahit anong gawin ng ABS, walang mangyayari. We owe it all to our supporters, to all there to watch our shows, to watch our content and support us. Walang hanggang pasasalamat.”

On the other hand, Nikki Valdez said that watching videos about the shutting down of ABS-CBN and the messages of support that they are receiving make her emotional.

Despite the trial that her home network faced since last year, Nikki is still proud to be a Kapamilya. “Nakakatuwa… Yung trials just made everyone stronger and [the lack of franchise] pushed us more na wala palang limits ang future. Marami ang puwedeng gawin, hindi lang sa free TV,” she added.
