Construction Worker Arrested in a Buy-Bust Ops in Navotas Over Illegal Plant

Authorities arrested a construction worker during a buy-bust operation conducted in Navotas City due to an illegal plant called “MaryJane.”

During the buy-bust operation, a construction worker was arrested with an estimated 328 grams of suspected dried marijuana leaves. According to the report, the suspect was identified as Paolo Reyes alias Amping, 21, of Ignacio St., Brgy. Daanghari.

Around 2:15 a.m., Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) operatives led by PLT Genere Sanchez conducted a buy-bust operation in Bacog, Block 3, Brgy. Daanghari, according to Navotas police chief Col. Dexter Ollaging. An undercover cop posing as a buyer was able to buy P500 worth of marijuana from the suspect.

The operatives captured the suspect after he accepted the marked money from the poseur buyer in return for plastic of dried Maryjane leaves. The suspect was found with approximately 328 grams of suspected dried Maryjane leaves.

The plant considered illegal drugs is worth P39,360.000 in regular drug pricing, according to the report. The suspect was also discovered with buy-bust money and an environmental bag in addition to the illicit plant.

The report added that the Navotas City police have taken possession of the suspect. He is accused of breaking RA 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002.

Meanwhile, authorities arrested five (5) family members over illegal drugs worth P3.4 million during a buy-bust operation in San Andres Bukid, Manila. Residents of the barangay, on the other hand, were taken aback by the operation, especially because they had been pronounced drug-free. They were able to pass through and the contraband was allegedly sold elsewhere.
