Top Catholic Church Official Found In Grindr, Linked To Gay Bars
CHURCH OFFICIAL FOUND IN GRINDR – A top Catholic church official from the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) was found in the gay online dating app Grindr.
Jeffrey Burrhill, the General Secretary of the USCCB was forced to resign due to “improper behavior”. According to reports, the priest had used Grindr on a “daily basis”. But how exactly did people find out?
Living a double-life isn’t easy, especially for a high-ranking official of the Catholic church. As such, Burrhill was found at the Church during the day and was even linked to gay bars during the night.
Apparently, the priests’ phone had “app data signals” from Grindr during 2018,2019, and 2020. The signals were found on both his office and his USCCB-owned home. When he was found, the priest stood down from his post and no charges were pressed against him.
Here is the official statement from the USCCB president, Most Reverend Jose H. Gomez:
Meanwhile, the initial article on the priest’s double-life posted by “The Pillar”, was blasted due to “data privacy issues”. Because of this, fellow priest Fr. James Martin said:
What did the article do? It spied on Msgr. Burrill (more accurately, it using “mined data” from an unnamed source who spied on him) to reveal that, apparently, he had broken his promise of celibacy. The article, which I will not link to, repeatedly conflated homosexuality with pedophilia, all under the guise of a journalistic ‘investigation.’
However, the Pillar emphasized that all the available data that they collected was “commercially available” public records. Furthermore, in the article, they claimed that Burhill also had signals from Entourage, a “Las Vegas gay bathhouse”.
