McGregor Allegedly Threatened To Kill Opponent, Wife After TKO Loss
MCGREGOR – The controversial Conor McGregor seemingly outdid himself after he allegedly threatened to kill Dustin Poirier and his wife after suffering a T.K.O defeat.
The conclusion of the McGregor-Poirer saga ended up in an anti-climactic twist after McGregor literally twisted his ankle in the first round. Because of this, the doctors called the fight off as McGregor was quickly rushed to the hospital for surgery.
According to McGregor, the surgery lasted for over 3 hours. But, he was still determined to continue training and fighting once he heals his injury.
However, right after the match and before, McGregor made some eerie statements toward his opponent. Apparently, the Notorious UFC fighter ramped it up by claiming that he would “murder” Poirier and that he won’t even make it home after the fight.
Furthermore, even after the injury, McGregor didn’t seem to tone down. He warned his opponent that the rivalry between them was far from done. Additionally, an MMC Twitter account reported McGregor saying “In your sleep you’re getting it, in your sleep you’re dead, you and your Mrs, it ain’t over”.
Relentless even after the injury, McGregor continued the threats even as he lied on the ground due to the horrific injury. He was even gesturing at his head as if holding a gun. During a post-match interview, Poirier stated:
He was sitting there on the mat with the broken leg, pointing… telling me he’s gonna kill me still. What are you doing bro? That’s disgusting. I’ll break his other leg
The guy’s got kids. I want him to go home safe to his family. I pray before these fights. Every time before I walk through the octagon door, I’m praying that – not for me to win – I’m praying that we both get out of this safe, because I know what I’m going to try to do to him and I know what he’s going to try to do to me
