Fake Police, 6 Cohorts Accused of Robbery-Extortion Arrested in Quezon City

Authorities arrested a fake police along with his six (6) cohorts during entrapment operation for alleged robbery-extortion in Quezon City.

According to the report, a police officer and his colleagues were detained in an entrapment operation that extorted a vice mayor. Former Patrolman Joaquin Flores and his accomplices Domingo Corpuz, Renz Manago, Elton Lopez, Gabriel Momjuan, Armando Silao, and Ocito Cerilo Delmonte were arrested at the Teachers Village in Quezon City.

According to Chief Police Brigadier General Thomas Frias of the Philippine National Police Integrity Monitoring Enforcement Group (IMEG), P2,000 marked money, P300,000 boodle money, a caliber.45 pistol with magazine and ammunition, a glock caliber.40, cellphones, two radio units, and various identification cards were recovered.

After Vice Mayor of Talisay, Batangas Charlie Natanauan sought assistance from IMEG, the arrest was made. Police Colonel Joaquin Flores was identified by the authorities as the person who allegedly sought P380,000 in exchange for an immediate resolution of his case before the Ombudsman.

Retired Police Brigadier General Nelson Yabut, Ombudsman Security Consultant, told IMEG that no charges have been filed against Natanauan. He further stated that the suspects had no ties to the Ombudsman’s Office.
