P1.2M Worth of Drug Plant Discovered from a Van After Evading Checkpoints in Isabela

P1.2 million worth of illegal drug plant called “Maryjane” seized from a van after allegedly evading police checkpoints in Isabela.

In Quezon, Isabela, authorities seized a million pesos worth of drug plant bricks. The Quezon Police Station received information from the Kalinga Police Provincial Office that their officers were pursuing an automobile suspected of being filled with illegal substances, mainly marijuana, according to the Isabela Police Provincial Office.

The vehicle got around the quarantine checkpoint in Barangay Romualdez, Rizal, Kalinga at first. The Quezon Police Station set up a roadblock on the national highway in Barangay Abut almost immediately, but the vehicle swerved by it.

The joint operative forces of the Rizal Police Station, RMFB 1503 Mobile Company, Tabuk City Police, Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit, PROCOR, Provincial Intelligence Unit, Kalinga Police Provincial Office, PECU KPPO, Kalinga 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company, PECU IPPO, Isabela 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 2 and PDE continued their hot pursuit operation.

Ten marijuana bricks wrapped in silicon plastic with an estimated total worth of P1.2 million were discovered in the car’s trunk when it was investigated with the help of a police service dog. A.38 caliber revolver with 5 bullets was also discovered in a sling bag and is suspected to be an unregistered handgun.

Two males from Tondo, Manila, one from Caloocan City, and the other from San Mariano, Isabela, were caught in the car. The suspects now detained at the Quezon Police Station are the subject of complaints.
