Man Arrested Over Money Exchange to Sensitive Photos in Social Media Modus
Authorities arrested a man who was discovered allegedly offering money in exchange to sensitive photos to his chatmate on social media.
After being jailed for offering money in exchange for filthy images of minor ladies he met on social media, a guy has apologized tearfully. Froilan Estolano, 38, was identified as the suspect, based on the report.
Estolano was allegedly nabbed in an entrapment operation put up by investigators at a fast-food restaurant in Tagaytay, according to the report. Estolano had already persuaded his intended victim, a 14-year-old girl, to meet with him.
According to the NBI Cavite District Office, Estolano told the victim he was just 25 years old when they met on Facebook. The suspect allegedly promised the victim money in exchange for sending sensitive images.
Later, the suspect invited his victim to meet him at a motel to hand him the cash. However, the suspect’s scheme was exposed when the victim called his mother on his smartphone and read the message exchange.
Estolano, who accepted his guilt, sought to bow down and seek the victim’s parent for forgiveness, but he was denied. The suspect is accused of breaking the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act (RA 9995), the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act (RA 9208), and the Child Abuse and Cybercrime Prevention Act (RA 7610).
This is the type of subject, according to Jonathan Contreras, Executive Officer of NBI-CAVIDO, of online predators that issue friend requests to their victims at random. They’ll give you a stipend and promise to purchase you a phone, but it’ll all be over the phone.
