Media Outlets Claimed Government Offices is Behind Cyberattacks on Them

Some media outlets claimed and accused that the government offices are the suspects behind the cyberattacks against their websites.

A number of alternative media outlets have reported cyberattacks on their websites. They also discovered that the perpetrators were members of the military and government agencies.

Last month, they experienced brief and frequent denial attacks on the pages of Bulatlat, AlterMidya, and Karapatan, according to Sweden-based media nonprofit Qurium. On May 18, bulatlat.com was scanned for vulnerabilities by a machine from the Department of Science and Technology.

Qurium from the Philippine Research, Education, and Government Information Network was used to conduct the scan. They examined the IP address, firewall, and email address registered with the Philippine Army in Taguig, he added.

Bulatlat had previously stated that the said cyber-attack was motivated by politics. They were also enraged by the episode since the tax was used to attack their websites and alienate their fans. They also asked the government to put an end to cyberattacks of this nature.
