Kagawad Shoots Hospital Guard Dead After Stealing Gun From Him
HOSPITAL GUARD DEAD – A security guard from Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center in Santa Cruz died after he was shot to death by a kagawad.
According to reports, the security guard was identified as Arturo Budlon, age 37 from Valenzuela City. He was assigned to a barangay kagawad that was confined in the hospital due to hurting himself.
Fellow barangay kagawads said that their confined colleague forcibly got out of his room. Knowing the patient was still unstable, the security guard tried to prevent the kagawad from going any further.
But, when the security guard wasn’t looking, the kagawad managed to steal the security guard’s 9-mm pistol and shot him. The security guard died after he got a bullet shot through his chest.
Afterward, the patient ran out with the security guard’s gun in hand. Eventually, he ran through police and both exchanged fire until the suspect reached the hospital morgue.
Based on an article from ABS-CBN, the kagawad was left in critical condition after he was shot in the thighs and stomach. Moreover, Police Lt. Col John Guiagui said: “Nagpapaputok pa rin siya. Noong na-immobilize siya, doon lang na-control ‘yong situation.”
Meanwhile, Barangay 428 Chairman Teddy Isla stated:
Sabi ko iwasan ang pag-inom. Kapag uminom siya, magdamag hindi makakatulog, baka ‘yun cause na may ano sa pag-iisip . . . Parang hindi tama ‘yung isip niya. Mayroon daw sumusunod sa kanya . . . Pinapipirma ang magulang. Six months ire-rehab kaso naaawa sila. Hindi natuloy
