Police Arrested Barangay Kagawad During Buy-Bust Operation in Iloilo
Anti-narcotic operatives arrested a barangay kagawad over illegal drugs during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Abilay Norte, Oton, Iloilo.
In Barangay Abilay Norte in Oton, Iloilo, a barangay councilor was apprehended in a buy-bust operation. The suspect has been identified as a councilor from Badiangan’s Barangay Talaba.

The operatives allegedly paid P5,000 for a sachet of suspected shabu. He was also found with 15 more sachets of shabu worth P100,000, two weapons, and ammo.
The suspect, who delivers drugs to Iloilo City and nearby provinces, is considered a high-value target by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Region 6. According to PDEA 6, the suspect was also involved in robbery hold-ups and gun-for-hire.
The suspect is expected to face charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 as well as the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition. During a police operation in Makati, officials apprehended a Nigerian national and seized P2.7 million worth of illegal drugs.
The arrest of a 38-year-old Nigerian and his accomplice, both from Cavite, yielded 400 grams of suspected shabu worth P2.7 million. The two were arrested after exchanging P150,000 worth of illegal narcotics with the poseur-buyer.
