Top 6 Personality on Davao del Sur Drugs Watchlist Killed in Buy-Bust
Suspects allegedly ranks Top 6 in drugs watchlist of Davao del Sur authorities killed after buy-bust operation turn into shootout.
A 42-year-old man died Tuesday morning in Purok 2, Barangay Bolton, Malalag town, Davao del Sur, after allegedly resisting an anti-illegal drug operation. Genesis Ladiza, alias Pogi, was slain in a buy-bust operation carried out by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Davao del Sur, Malalag Municipal Police, and other Philippine National Police units (PNP).

Ladiza is ranked 6th on the PDEA-PNP provincial target list, and high-value target No. 5 at the regional level, according to PDEA XI. According to the Malalag PNP inquiry, Ladiza allegedly purchased a P10,000 bundle of suspected shabu.
When it was discovered that a PDEA agent was posing as the buyer, the suspect allegedly brought out his .38 pistol and shot the PDEA agent. The PDEA agent was compelled to defend himself and shot Ladiza in the chest, according to reports.
He was taken to the provincial hospital in Davao del Sur, but was pronounced dead upon arrival. Two huge bundles of suspected shabu worth P165,000 and a.38 caliber gun were also discovered from the murdered target.
