Two (2) women who were suspected as victims of human trafficking were intercepted by the Bureau of Immigration (BI) in Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).

One of them was intercepted at NAIA Terminal 3 on May 31 before it could board its trip to Doha, according to Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente. According to TCEU, alias “Sari” was from Sultan Kudarat and was 27 years old, according to the paperwork he showed.

Sari later revealed that she was only 21 years old after offering contradictory responses when she first arrived for the interview. In exchange for processing her travel documents, the woman, who introduced herself as her recruiter, told him that she would be the first to collect her first three salaries as a domestic service worker in Qatar.

Another woman claimed to be 25 years old on her travel documents, but later acknowledged that she was just 19 years old. The minimum age limit for Filipino HSW has been discovered to be 23 years old. The two victims are currently working with the Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking to help them file a complaint against their recruiters.
