Mentally ill Man Suddenly Goes Wild and Stabs Self in Pangasinan

An alleged mentally ill in Pangasinan man suddenly goes wild and stabs himself in front of his two (2) children and employees of EPAC.

According to the report, a mentally ill guy allegedly went crazy and stabbed himself in front of the staff of the Eastern Pangasinan Agricultural College (EPAC) in Barangay Paitan. The incident was also witnessed by his two children.

Rolando Capillan, 50, of Barangay San Mariano, boarded a tricycle for home with his two children in a prominent mall in Rosales, this province, according to Major Arturo Melchor, Pangasinan police information officer. Capillan abruptly told the tricycle driver to come to a halt when they arrived at the EPAC at 4:15 p.m.

He dismounted and requested a knife from a school security guard in order to divide a sack he was carrying. “Gagamitin daw niya para hatiin ang sako,” cops stated.

Capillan was given a knife, but in front of his children and school workers, he stabbed himself multiple times. EPAC personnel tried to calm him down as he headed towards the school campus, but he continued to stab himself until he passed out.

He was transferred to a hospital in the province of Tayug. Case officer Police Staff Sgt. Christian Kenn B. Abuan said his young children were endorsed to the municipal social welfare and development office.

Capillan, according to Abuan, has been taking medication for mental illness. Police discovered that Capillan’s wife is an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW). As of Friday afternoon, he is still being watched.
