Eatery Owner Discovers Lost Money Inside Wall After Rat Allegedly Stole It
A disgruntled eatery owner went viral on social media after discovering a large sum of money that she claims lost after stolen by a rat.
On Facebook, an eatery owner expresses her displeasure with a sly rat in their neighborhood. Sherryl Anlap Tayhopon, the uploader, wonders why some of her money that was supposed to be payment for her expenses went missing.
“Nagtataka ako bakit nawawala ang mga pera ko na dapat ipambabayad ko sa school ng mga anak ko. Ninakaw mo pala at ginawa mo pang alkansya ang pader ng bahay ko,” Tayhopon said in Hiligaynon (Bacolod’s language).

Due to her anger, the owner of a restaurant in Bacolod City once chased a rat. She found the money she had lost concealed in the wall of his room after chasing the cunning rodent.
“Salbahe ka, akala mo hindi kita mahuhuli, buti nalang maiinit ang ulo ko at hinabol kita kung saan ka nagtatago. Nang nag-flashlight ako libo-libo yung nakita ko sa lungga mo,” she said.
A rat had bitten some paper bills of various denominations that were trapped within the plywood wall. Tayhopon expressed his displeasure to the rat because the money had been damaged and he wasn’t sure whether it could still be useful.
Some of the bills, though, were still intact but had been saturated in water. Despite her annoyance with the cunning rodent, she views her discovery as a “blessing in disguise.”
