According to video footage posted by the Quezon City local government, participants were seen standing near each other without face masks or face shields. It’s been dubbed a “superspreader” event by LGU.

Mayor Joy Belmonte of Quezon City has ordered an investigation into the incident. Those found in violation of the rules and ordinances will be given violation tickets and could face charges, according to her.

Under the general population quarantine, massive social events are also prohibited, according to Belmonte. Meanwhile, the barangay officials in charge of the pool party have yet to issue a response.
