Parañaque City Finishes Pfizer COVID-19 Vaccine Rollout In Record Time

PARAÑAQUE FINISHES PFIZER ROLLOUT – The local government of Parañaque city said they have completed the rollout of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine just two days after offering the jab.

Amid the coronavirus pandemic, countries look to vaccines as a sign of hope for normalcy. In the Philippines, the government aims to inoculate at least 70 million Filipinos to achieve herd immunity.

As such, the national government had continued to ramp up its vaccination campaign initiatives. Due to this, several cities, including Parañaque had already began vaccinations in record time.

Parañaque City Finishes Pfizer Rollout – Mayor Olivarez

According to Parañaque Mayor Edwin Olivarez, merely two days after offering the vaccine to its constituents, they already finished allocation for the vaccination. During an interview with Teleradyo, the Mayor said:

Nung Monday and Tuesday po, yun po ang ating first rollout ng ating Pfizer. At natapos po natin yung allocation na binigay po sa atin ng DOH [Department of Health] para po sa Pfizer

Currently, the city was given 9,000 does of Pfizer vaccines. Half of which, had already been used as the first dose. With this, the city now saves the other half for the second pfizer dose for beneficiaries who were given the first.

Recently, the Philippines received 193,050 doses of the US-based COVID-19 vaccine from Pfizer and BioNTech through the COVAX facility. Still, around 2.2 million doses of the vaccine are expected to arrive in the country at the end of the month.
