COVID-19 Vaccination Drive Through In Rizal Begins Under Bridge
COVID-19 VACCINATION – In Rodriguez, Rizal, the municipality’s COVID-19 drive through vaccination begins under a bridge.
According to Dr. Maria Carmela Javier, the municipality Health Officer, the drive through helps to speed-up the vaccination process. Currently, Rizal has 600 vials of AstraZeneca that would expire in July.
Aside from the drive through vaccination, there are also other teams that provide inoculation services in covered courts and other open spaces. During an interview with ABS-CBN, Javier said:
“Mas safe ito kasi basta sa isang kotse hindi sila nagsisiksikan dahil isa rin [‘yan] sa puwedeng mag-spread ng virus“…
We see to it na naka-face mask at face shield kung nasa loob sila ng sasakyan
With Metro Manila and its four neighboring provinces having declining COVID-19 infections, the government ramps up its vaccination program. Currently, the country aims to vaccinate over 70 million Philippines by the end of the year.
Through this, the country aims to get herd immunity against COVID-19. So far, 2.9 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine doses have been used.
However, based on previous surveys, a large percentage of the Filipino public is still hesitant to take the vaccine. As such, the government strides to further promote its campaign for nationwide vaccinations.
