Russia Picks Cast, Crew For First Movie Shot In Space
FIRST MOVIE IN SPACE – Russia has selected four people to serve as crew for the first film shot in space.
With the rise of technology, films can now use vivid CGI to immerse the audience in any setting they desire. However, the most intriguing and compelling would be movies about space and its mysteries. But, no production company has dared to actually film a movie in outer space – until now.

After selecting the crew, Russia’s Roscosmos space agency said the individuals would be subject to training. Furthermore, they’d be receiving centrifuge tests, vibration stand tests, and flight trainings on zero gravity planes. Additionally, parachute training is also necessary.
Currently, the film has a working title of “Challenge”. Moreover, the cast would start their training by the end of May.
Following a medical screening of the cast, Russia selected 36-year-old actor Yulia Peresild and director Klim Shipenko. Joining the cast would be Alena Mordovina and camera director Alexi Dudin.
Some of the cast are scheduled to be launched using a Soyuz MS-19 craft come October 5, 2021. Then, they’d be delivered to the International Space Station that orbits the Earth at an altitude of 220 miles.
