From child star to a mature artist, here’s what Alexa Ilacad shared about her journey
Actress-singer Alexa Ilacad said that she did not have to go through the “awkward stage” in showbiz which is from being a child star going to being a teen star and eventually doing mature roles.
It is a dilemma for some artist going through the transition period. There were several child stars who were considered big names in the entertainment industry but was not able to have a smooth transition when they grew up as teenagers.
Fortunately, for Alexa, the transition that she had was not difficult. Talking to The Philippine Star, the young celebrity said that after the kiddie gag show Goin’ Bulilit, offers to do shows kept on coming.
“Usually, that’s what people — kids, not kids anymore — my age went through. Like when you turn 13, you take a break, you do your braces and all the things you need to do in puberty. You go through that and then you come back. Luckily, I didn’t have to go through that.” Alexa Ilacad said.
Without sounding arrogant, she said that the reason why offers for her continue to come because she is good in what she is doing and she is thankful for the opportunities that have been given to her.
She also expressed gratitude to all the people who believe in her talent, to her home network ABS-CBN, and to her mom who has been very supportive of her when it comes to reaching her dreams.
Now that she is ready to embrace adulthood, Alexa Ilacad is gladly accepting the changes in her life.
