Boss Paid Employee In Crypto, Now Demands Return After Price Rockets

Boss Paid Employee In Crypto Last Year Now Wants It Back

BOSS PAID EMPLOYEE IN CRYPTO – August of Last Year, several employees of a company got paid in cryptocurrency. Back then, the price was obviously low considering it was still ramping up to 2021’s bull-run.

But, a year later, the same boss who opted not to pay in cash but in crypto, wants his coins back. According to the employees, they received an email stating:

Since you did not generate any revenue for the company and are not currently doing any follow up work, please send back all of the crypto received in August 2020. You can invoice the company for the hours worked in USD

Based on an article from Unilad, the price of the cryptocurrency the employees were paid is now worth seven times more. Now, the CEO of the company said they can invoice the company back the original price of the crypto in USD when it was paid to them.

The employee told, Market Watch that he’d already worked with his boss for many years. However, he stated that “he has a tendency to try to change the terms of payment after agreeing on a certain way of operating“.

Due to this, the employee asked for advice on the Market Watch Website. Promptly, everybody who commented had the same sentiment “You should not return your crypto”.

As a response, Moneyist advice columnist Quentin Fottrell said:

If the value of the cryptocurrency had fallen by 100% to zero since August 2020, would he want to pay you in dollars? If it suddenly dipped by that amount today, would he follow up with his employees?
