Ex-CAFGU Father, Son in Davao de Oro Shot to Death at Their House

A father and son identified as ex-CAFGU members died after allegedly being shot at their house in Maco, Davao de Oro.

According to police, a father and son were shot dead at their home in Maco city, Davao de Oro. Arman Demecillo Sr., 49, was discovered dead outside his home in Purok 1, Barangay Concepcion.

Arman Demecillo Jr., his 26-year-old son, was found dead in the kitchen. According to police, the two are former members of the Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit (CAFGU).

The victim’s father was seated in a chair outside their home, while his son was also sitting on the balcony, according to the police report. Three men wearing bonnets, black t-shirts, and long pants reportedly drove by and stopped at their home. They claimed to be on a motorcycle.

One of the perpetrators reportedly shot the father for an unknown motive, while the son fled to the kitchen. The suspects allegedly followed the son where he went and shot him.

The two men died as a result of injuries to different parts of their bodies. Although the motive for the crime is still being investigated, police have already performed a hot pursuit operation.
