Alvin Elchico was bashed by netizens due to his interview with Angel Locsin
ABS-CBN reporter Alvin Elchico apologized to actress Angel Locsin after he interviewed her regarding what happened in the community pantry that she organized for her birthday.
Angel is not just known for being a good actress. She has been popular for her charitable endeavors, especially when the Philippines has started suffering from the COVID-19 pandemic.
As she celebrated her birthday this year, Angel organized a community pantry and she has announced it on her social media accounts. However, an unfortunate incident happened. An elderly man, who had been waiting in the queue early in the morning, died after suffering from a stroke.
Angel Locsin issued an apology because of the unexpected incident that also broke her heart. She was also interviewed on TV Patrol regarding this matter. Alvin Elchico was the one who interviewed.
The actress was crying as she was trying to answer the questions. One of the questions that the reporter asked was, “meron ka pa bang susunod na ioorganisang community pantry o nadala ka na?”
Because of this, the name of the Kapamilya reported became a trending topic on Twitter as many fans of Ange slammed him for that kind of questioning. Many netizens pointed out that he was being insensitive to what the actress felt during the interview.
Following the negative reaction from netizens to the interview, Alvin Elchico apologized. On his program on Teleradyo with Doris Bigornia, he said sorry to the actress.
Alvin stressed that he never meant to offend or hurt the feelings of Angel, as well as her fans. He explained that it is how he speaks and it is the tone of his voice.
The reporter also said that the question was valid and the actress answered that she will not organize a community pantry again.
