Boy Abunda revealed that he was offered by other networks to transfer
King of Talk Boy Abunda admitted that he received offers to do a talk show in other networks after ABS-CBN’s franchise was denied but this was his decision.
Tito Boy has been under the Kapamilya network for several years now and he has done so many talk shows already. His expertise in this field is being admired by many, especially those who aspire to follow in his footsteps in the industry.
Just like other Kapamilya artists, the contract of Tito Boy with ABS-CBN was also suspended when the media giant was ordered to shut down.
During a recent media conference for his talk show The Best Talk on live streaming app Kumu, the veteran host gave a piece of advice to Kapamilya stars who also thought of transferring to other networks, based on the article in The Philippine Star.
“Depende sa pag-uusap. Makipag-usap ka ng maayos. Magpaalam ka ng maayos. Ako, my contract is suspended. I will be lying to you if I say I didn’t get offers to do talk shows,” Boy Abunda said and admitted the offers he received.
When his contract with ABS-CBN was suspended, he did not accept the offers from other networks but used his spare time to rest.
“But I also wanted to rest. For almost 30 years of doing talk (shows), sabi ko, ‘Magpahinga ka muna, wala ka nang ginawa kundi dumaldal nang dumaldal’,” the King of Talk said.
On the other hand, the veteran host stressed that he perfectly understands those who decided to transfer to other networks. He said that for whatever reason, whether it is financial, or matters concerning the spiritual or emotional aspect of the artist, then, a discussion with the network’s management is necessary.
“But if a person wants to go forth decently because he wants to survive, it should not be taken against the person,” Boy Abunda added. It is a fact that those who decided to have their network switch received criticisms due to the “loyalty” issue.
