National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) rookie cops didn’t think that they would be put in the hot water for the alleged indiscriminate firing using their firearms in Gabaldon Town, Nueva Ecija. They were arrested by their co-police after they were reported.

Captain Isagani Sibayan of Barangay Calabasa reported the two cops at the headquarters of the Gabaldon Municipal Police Station, based on the report of P/Col. Jaime Santos, provincial director of the Nueva Ecija PPO, for firing their guns for no apparent reason in the Santor River, which is part of the Captain’s area.
Based on the report, the rookie policemen were visiting their relatives in the village. nvestigators discovered at least eight spent shells at the crime scene. After being disarmed for a paraffin test at the Nueva Ecija Crime Laboratory, the suspects are being held at the Gabaldon MPS custodial center.
“We will not condone this misdemeanor and appropriate charges will be filed against them, both administrative and criminal, if warrants. Disciplining and dismissing erring police personnel shows efforts of the PNP in removing bad eggs in the police force in line of PNP’s internal cleansing program, and that the rule of law does not distinguish rank, position, or popularity whether victims or respondent in the PNP organization. This is a clear manifestation of our keen determination to remove misfits among the ranks of our organization,” said P/BGen. De Leon.
