Robredo In Quarantine After Close Contact With Aid Who Tested Positive

VP Robredo In Quarantine Following Close Contact With Aide Positive For COVID-19

ROBREDO IN QUARANTINE – Vice President Leni Robredo said she will go under isolation after her close-in security personnel tested positive for COVID-19.

In a Facebook post, the Vice President said she got a call from a contact tracer informing her of the details. Furthermore, she said that she was with the security personnel in the car, elevator, and in the office “almost every day this week”.

Because of this, Robredo had to cancel her trip to Bicol to pay respects for a good friend who lost the battle against cancer. Currently, Robredo needs to wait until her quarantine is over and get tested with a rt-pcr test.

We have regular surveillance antigen testing in the office and we do follow very strict health protocols but because I was a very close contact, I need to do the required quarantine and do an rt-pcr test after my quarantine.

Previously, Robredo said that she was already illegible to get vaccinated. However, she chose not to due to the country’s lack of vaccine supplies. Meanwhile, she said that once supplies are available, she’d rather have her close-aids who travel around for their COVID-19 response work get inoculated with the vaccines.

Currently, the Philippines has 193,476 active coronavirus cases. Yesterday, the Department of Health announced an additional 10,726 infections.
