Tricycle Driver Trying to Bribe Law Enforcers in Malabon City Arrested

Police arrested a tricycle driver in Malabon City after he attempted to bribe the law enforcers over violation ticket cited to him.

A tricycle driver was jailed after attempting to bribe the police who issued him an ordinance violation receipt (OVR) for violating the traffic restriction code in Malabon City. Based on the report, the detained was identified as Leonardo Dela Cruz, 47, of 67 Ignacio St. Bacog, Navotas city. He is now facing charges of violating Art 212 of RPC (Corruption of Public Official).

In the report of PSSg Diego Ngippol and PSSg Michael Oben to Malabon police chief Col. Joel Villanueva, Sub-Station 6 personnel PCpl John Carlo Mata and PCpl Bengie Nalogoc under the command of PLT Manny Ric Delos Angeles were on duty at the quarantine control point (QCP) in Estrella St. barangay Tañong when they saw the suspect on his tricycle approaching.

The police arrested the tricycle driver after they discovered he is from Navotas. They immediately issued him an OVR for violating the traffic restriction code related to enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) for entering Malabon.

After that, the suspect went home and later returned to the quarantine control point. He then offered the arresting officers P1,000 to forgive him for his violation but instead of accepting the money, the police arrested Dela Cruz.
