After the vehicle passed through checkpoints, the passengers will then exit and get on colorum vans, which would bring them to their respective provinces. According to the authorities, the said truck was not inspected as it showed documents saying it is carrying fish products.
Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade called the video “COVID-19 smuggling” because of the smuggling of individuals who have yet to get tests. He condemned the illegal activity as it could put Filipinos life in danger.
Tugade said that such illegal operations were one of the main reasons for the transmission of the illness. He airs frustration “Lahat ng paghihirap natin sa testing, isolation, at treatment, mawawala dahil dito sa mga kagaguhan at kalokohan na ginagawa dito.”
