5 Selling Fake Land Titles in Cagayan Arrested in an Entrapment Operation
Five people were arrested in an entrapment operation by the police after they sold fake land titles in Camalanuigan, Cagayan.
The five people were arrested during the entrapment operation conducted by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) -Region 2 and the police after they allegedly sold fake land titles in Brgy. Ziminila, Camalanuigan of this province.
Gelacio Bongngat, Director of NBI R02, identified the suspects as Billy Ibarra Sistoza, Reynaldo Martinez Delelis, Leilanie Torida Mirafuente, Orlando Penaflor Alariao and Jun Dela Rosa Tablac who are all residents of this province.
While the complainant identified Cyrille Lozada as the suspects Siztoza posing as Heriberto Remudaro and Delelis as well as the three others when they offered four parcels of land allegedly named after Remudaro located in Brgy. Rapuli in the town of Sta. Ana worth P6.5M.

While the process was underway to name the land to the victim for which he had already paid P1.5M, he found out that the owner of the land, Remudaro, was dead and the suspects were only using the said name.
Lozada also approached the Registry of Deeds and determined that the titles shown had been canceled. After that, he also found out that there was a new owner of the land.
As a result, the victim approached the NBI where the agency determined that Sistoza had previously been caught in 2018 for the same violation and sale of fake gold bars but was able to post bail.
The NBI immediately launched an entrapment operation in Brgy. Ziminila, Camalanuigan for the complainant’s payment of P5M caused by the arrest of the suspects.
Boodle money used in the transaction and ID Card were recovered from the suspects. The suspects face a case of violation of Article 315 of the Revised Penal Code in relation to Presidential Decree 1689 which is now in the custody of the NBI.
