30 Makati City Residents Urge Government to Transfer Them in Quarantine Facility

Around 30 residents at Barangay Palanan in Makati City want to stay in a quarantine facility fearing that they were infected by COVID-19.

30 residents is calling out the local government unit of Makati City to place them in a quarantine facility. The villagers are claiming that they were exposed to the virus for almost two weeks.

Two senior citizens also placed a camping tent inside the compound due to lack of room for isolation. Three families in the compound are sharing with one comfort room only.

According to a resident named Lex Torregoza, eight members of the family in the compound test positive for the coronavirus disease and most of them are asymptomatic. Torregoza’s aunt also died due to cardiac arrest after being infected.

Lex and his family find it difficult to give her auntie an immediate and proper medications after some hospitals refused to accept her for having no doctor’s referral. The family did also received a financial aid from the government.

The family also spent their own money for swab test in private companies but no one is monitoring their health condition.

On Friday (March 26, 2021), Makati City Epidemiology Surveillance Unit (CESU) go to the area to conduct a swab test to the residents.
