Man Arrested After Breaking-In Store In Pasay City

PASAY CITY – A man was recently arrested by authorities after he allegedly broke in a merchandise store in Bgy. 171, Malibay, Pasay City.

According to a report from ABS-CBN News, a CCTV footage identified the suspect under the alias ‘Danny’, 43 years of age and is a resident in the said area.

The suspect was immediately arrested after barangay officials identified him as he broke-in the said store at 1:45 AM.

The man approached the store at P. Santos Street that time. He entered the store and left 25 seconds after.

That morning, the store owner discovered that the pad-lock securing the door was open and P14,000 worth of cash was stolen inside the establishent.

‘Danny’ claimed that he attempted to pick the padlock with a recently bought hair pin.

“Ngayon ko lang nagawa. Sinubukan ko lang kung umepekto,”

“Pagkapasok ko ng pin, pag-ganyan ko, bumukas na agad.”

He has no permanent job and said that he was having sidelines like working at a construction site.

‘Danny’ said that he needed the money for the child of his friend who got ill.

“Kapit sa patalim nga ho kaya ko nagawa ‘yon.”

He also admitted that he used P1,000 from the stolen money to buy illegal drugs.

The police reported that this was not the first time the suspect tried to break-in the store.

Police Lt. Gilmer Mariñas, Malibay substation police commander, said that he gradually attempted to open the padlock.

“Ilang beses niyang binalik-balikan ‘yon. E nakita niya ‘yon ang parte na may pinaka-vulnerable. Kaya iyon ang tinarget niya,”

Retrieved from the suspect were P4,600 of the stolen money. He further gave P2,000 and apologized to the store owner, who recently changed the padlock.

Based on the report, the store owner will continue to file charges against ‘Danny’ for robbery.
