Real Agents of NBI Arrested a Man Pretending as Their Agents
National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) agents arrested a man pretending to be an NBI agent to extort money from the victims.
A man was arrested in an entrapment operation who allegedly pretended to be an agent of the NBI to extort money from a person with a passport problem. The operation carried out by real NBI-Anti-Fraud personnel to arrest the suspect.
Based on the report of GMA News, the fake agent was identified as Tomy Nikko Ong. He was arrested after he accepted the marked money worth P250,000 that he demanded from his victim.

Ong was also found in possession of a .45 Glock pistol gun, and fake t-shirts, badges, and NBI ID. The suspect had a gun license but could not show a permit to carry.
During the NBI investigation, the suspect appeared to be pretending as an NBI agent and offered to help fix the problem with his victim’s passport in the amount of P70,000 and up to P250,000.
NBI-Anti-Fraud. Division chief Head Agent Palmer Mallari said that Ong demanded 250,000 from the victim named Eloy who later found the Ong was not a real NBI agent after he asked the NBI. Ong is facing charges of estafa, extortion, falsification of public documents, and usurpation of authority.
“Hiningian nila ng P250,000 itong si Eloy, ‘yung complainant. Nagtanong-tanong itong complainant, eventually nakapagtanong sa NBI at nalaman niya na itong si Tomy Nikko Ong ay hindi pala talaga totoong NBI agent,” said Mallari.
