What was the story behind the interview of Boy Abunda with Gerald Anderson?
King of Talk Boy Abunda revealed the details in his controversial interview with Init Sa Magdamag actor Gerald Anderson.
Tito Boy, being a well-respected host in the Philippines, got the answer that many netizens have been waiting to be revealed. Weeks ago, the veteran host sat down with Gerald on the set of his new TV series. In that interview, the actor finally confirmed his relationship with Julia Barretto. He also debunked the “ghosting” allegation against him.
In a recent media conference with Philstar, Tito Boy detailed what happened during the interview behind the camera. He clarified that they did not have a conversation prior to the interview. There was no preparation nor briefing that had happened.
“We didn’t know what to talk about,” Boy Abunda said. He added that there was no understanding between him and Gerald Anderson regarding the things that they know. “Naalala ko lang bumaba ako ng auto ko, I went straight to the set, sabi ni Gerald, ‘Tito Boy, halos isang taon tayong ‘di nagkita’,” the veteran host recalled.
He shared that his aim was to hear the side of Gerald regarding the issues being thrown at him surrounding his relationship with Julia and the past that he had with Bea Alonzo.
For Tito Boy, it was a given factor that he would be asking Gerald those kinds of questions. He shared that if he felt that the actor wasn’t ready to answer those queries, he would have held himself from shooting those questions.
“Pero unang tanong ko palang, ‘Kamusta ka na, Ge?’ and he said he’s living in gratitude and controversy. Du’n palang alam ko na, ‘A, possible ito’,” the veteran host said and he was happy about the outcome.
When asked if the interview saved Gerald Anderson from social stigma, Boy Abunda answered that he will not be able to say anything in the context of the actor’s career. However, whether it was intentional or just circumstantial, the veteran host said that Gerald was able to liberate himself because of that interview.
