This is what Jaya shared about what she went through amid the pandemic
Soul Diva Jaya revealed the reason why she and her family decided to leave the Philippines and return to the United States of America.
Just like other artists, Jaya also felt the massive effect of the COVID-19 pandemic in the lives of many people. The singer revealed in a report from PEP that she felt the hardship when the lockdown started in March last year.
At that time, she freshly came from a tour. During the enhanced community quarantine, the Soul Diva did all the household chores as they did not had “kasamabahay”.
Without noticing, she was already neglecting her health. “Naramdaman ko lang na nag-focus ako sa isang bagay na hindi ko alam, nalulungkot na pala ako, natatakot, at nadi-depress. I started to lose weight. Hindi ko na-anticipate na hindi na pala ako kumakain nang tama o tamang oras, o nag-one meal a day lang ako. Hindi ko yun napansin,” the singer shared.
She also said that when her husband Gary Gotidoc had a stroke, the hardship doubled.
The singer admitted that at the back of her mind, she panicking questions about their future. At that time, thankfully, Jaya said that they held on to their faith.
With this, she and her husband came up with the decision to return to America. The singer said that Gary and her stepson already went abroad and she is set to follow them there.
They had to sell a property in Tarlac in order to support this major decision on their lives.
“You know, God had better plans. He made us sell the property, nagbayad the same day… that was January 5… January 7, they departed,” the Soul Diva shared.
Within 22 hours, she said that her husband was able to find a home to rent and it is huge.
“Things happened and things start to arise when your faith rises. That’s the reason why I’m going to the States because I think He’s telling me talaga to go there, don’t worry about it,” Jaya shared.
