New Coronavirus Cases In PH Surpass 3,000 For 3rd Straight Day

NEW CORONAVIRUS CASES IN PH – The Department of Health (DOH) reported an additional 3,276 coronavirus cases in the Philippines.

This mean that the country has seen a recent spike in the number of daily COVID-19 cases. Furthermore, this has been the third straight day the health department reported new cases that surpassed the 3,000 mark.

Meanwhile, the DOH had also documented 10,516 recoveries. With this, the number of patient who recovered from COVID-19 grew to 545,853. Unfortunately, there were 51 new deaths increasing the toll to 12,516.

Currently, the Total number of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines is 594,412. But, according to the DOH, the number of active cases in the Philippines covers 6.1% of the total cases.

On the other hand, the number of recovered patients make up 91.8 percent of the total caseload with the number of deaths accounting for 2.11 percent.

However, with the presence of new “mutations of concern” such as the UK and the South African strain in the Philippines, the OCTA research group warns of another possible outbreak if left to spread.
