Man Arrested In Laguna For Links To Robbery, Extortion, Gun-For-Hire
LAGUNA – A man was recently arrested in Laguna province for allegedly being a member of a criminal group active in CALABARZON region.
According to a report from Inquirer, the man was also arrested for allegedly involved in gun-for-hire, gunrunning, robbery, and extortion activities.
The Philippine National Police (PNP) identified the suspect as Ramir Corcolon, 44 years of age, who was arrested in San Pablo, Laguna.
The arrest was based on search warrants or violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunitions Regulation Act and for violation of Republic Act 9516 or illegal possession of explosives.
Retrieved from the suspect were a .45 pistol caliber Colt with serial no. 13761, a caliber .45 magazine loaded with three bullets, seven .45 caliber bullets; 15 bullets for a 9mm pistol, a suspected improvised explosive device, and an Mk-2 fragmentation grenade, based on the report.
“The arrested suspect was brought to Criminal and Detection Investigation Group (CIDG) Laguna PFU for documentation and proper disposition,”
In a separate report, a man of unknown identity was arrested after bringing P800,000 worth of illegal drugs hidden in chicken meat at the Davao City Jail-Male Dormitory (DCJ-MD).

The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology Region 11 said that they also seized a packet of suspected Maryjane with a street value of P200 from the suspect.
