7-Eleven Stores to Install Cash-Recycling ATMs in Selected Branches

The popular convenience store chain 7-Eleven will roll out cash-recycling ATMs in selected branches to provide more services to customers.

On Friday (March 5, 2021), the local operator Philippine Seven Corp announced that the company will install at least 320 in-store “cash-recycling” ATMs in the first half of 2021. The ATMs are similar to the machines in Japan.

The cash-recycling ATMs will accept cash deposits and dispense the same bills for cash withdrawals. The ATMs will be installed with the help of Pito AxM Platform Inc (PAPI).

The Philippine Seven Corp said that the firm has already installed some machine in some branches of 7-Eleven stores in Metro Manila last month. The company said that around 30 ATMs are now in operation and about 320 machines will operate by June.

“Cash-recycling ATMs are standard in Japan because it reduces the need to deliver cash and provides a reliable and convenient experience for receiving deposits,” Philippine Seven Corp CEO Jose Victor Paterno said.

Paterno aims to install the cash-recycling ATMs in all 7-Eleven stores if possible to give a convenient transaction to Filipino customers. He also plants to collaborate with other banks in the future.
