Fauci Attributes 500K COVID Deaths To Political Divisions In Pandemic

FAUCI ON 500K COVID DEATHS – The United State’s top infectious disease expert, Anthony Fauci attributes the grim milestone of 500,000 COVID-19 deaths to political division.

According to Fauci, political divisiveness significantly factored into the tragic COVID-19 death toll in the U.S. Currently, the country has reported over 28 million COVID-19 cases. Of this number, 500,054 had succumbed to the deadly disease.

During an interview with Reuters, Fauci stated that amid the inital outbreaks of the virus in the US, there was severe political divisions. Furthermore, he said that wearing masks became a political statement instead of a public health protocol.

Additionally, he questioned how a rich and developed country such as the United States would have the largest percentage deaths due to COVID-19 in the world. He said that if only politics was set aside, this wouldn’t have transpired.

This is the worst thing that’s happened to this country with regard to the health of the nation in over 100 years, Fauci stated.

However, he emphasized that despite Trump’s arguments, the country’s failure can’t all be blamed on Trump. As per the interview, he explained that it was “the lack of involvement at the very top of the leadership in trying to do everything that was science-based was clearly detrimental to the effort“.
