DOT said in the statement based on Inquirer, two tourists were intercepted by Municipal Health Officers at Lio Airport last Feb. 16. Authorities discovered their violation after checking the quick response (QR) code of the clinic that allegedly issued the test results.

“The falsification was confirmed by verifying the QR code through the Lords Medical and Industrial Clinic which administered the test,” the department said in a statement.

They allegedly violated the Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases and Health Events of Public Health Concern Act, based on the DOT. “This is in violation of RA 11322 Sec (g) Tampering of Records or intentionally providing misinformation,” said DOT.

The tourism department said the tourists were sent to a hotel for seven-day mandatory quarantine. Last month, six tourists in Manila forged a COVID test result to enter Boracay.
