Husband Hammered Own Wife to Death in Negros Occidental
An alcoholic husband hammered his own wife that lead to death due to jealousy on Tuesday in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental.
The victim was identified as Delbeth Laurente, 40, while the suspect was identified by Saler Laurente, 44, both residents of Sitio Lucay Dos, Barangay Camingawan, Kabankalan City.
According to Police Lt. Jomel Salarda, deputy chief of the Kabankalan City Police Station, the children woke up when their mother was bathed in her own blood while their father was knocking on the door outside their home.

Saler took his children to his only daughter’s house and there he replied that he had killed his own wife by hitting her in the head with a hammer. With the help of barangay police, the suspect was turned over to the Kabankalan City Police Station.
Police said that Saler is jealous that he believes his wife has another man, which makes him mad and kills her. In the past few days, the suspect allegedly had a man waiting for his wife outside their home but the victim denied it.
According to their children, their father had not eaten for several days and had been drinking heavily. Meanwhile, the police are already preparing the parricide case to be filed against the suspect.
