An update from the state weather bureau says that the LPA may develop into a tropical depression before it enters the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) within the next two to three days.

According to the Manila Bulletin, the bureau said that the LPA could gain strength as it is still over the sea.

The said weather disturbance could intensify into a tropical cyclone before it enters PAR within two to three days.

The bureau will maintain the said weather disturbance for its possible development into a tropical depression. It added that the LPA has no direct effect over the country, as of the moment.

Based on the report, for the weather forecast the tail-end of frontal system and northeast monsoon or amihan will be the dominant weather systems that may affect the country in the next few days.

Zamboanga Sibugay, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, Bukidnon, Camiguin, Misamis Occidental, Misamis Oriental, Lanao del Norte, and Visayas, meanwhile, will face cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.

The bureau urged those in the said areas to vigilant against possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains caused by the tail-end of frontal system.

Amihan will bring light rains over Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Abra, Apayao, Benguet, Ifugao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Aurora, Quezon, Albay, Catanduanes, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Sorsogon, and Masbate.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon may have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light amihan rains.

The rest of the country may face isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.
