Gordon: “50 Riding-In-Tandem Killings Recorded In 2021”
RIDING-IN-TANDEM KILLINGS- Senator Richard Gordon said that there were about 50 riding-in-tandem killings recorded as of this year.
According to Inquirer, Gordon enumerated said killings across the country during the Senate inquiry into the delayed implementation of a law seeking to curb killings perpetrated by motorcycle assailants.
Among the killed were 30 civilians, nine police officers, 14 government officials and employees, three businessmen, one teacher, one unionist and one lawyer.

Gordon, who chairs the blue ribbon committee, resumed his panel’s hearing on implementing Republic Act No. 11235 or the Motorcycle Crime Prevention Act, which he earlier said, has been “very slow.”
RA 11235 seeks to secure and safeguard the citizenry from crimes made using motorcycles by imposing bigger, readable, and color-coded number plates for them to easily identify the number plates of motorcycles used in crimes.
Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Debold Sinas told the committee that authorities are currently probing the incidents Gordon mentioned, adding the the PNP has already activated a Tactical Motorcycle Riding Unit (TMRU) last October 23, based on the report.

“Kasama po dito, bawat police station, lalo na sa NCR at highly urbanized cernters, ay meron na pon TMRUs,”
