Recently, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque announced that vaccines are expected to arrive in the country come February 15. However, according to Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire, Feb. 15 was merely an indicative date.

The COVAX Facility is a global movement that’s made up of groups such as the World Health Organization. It aims to provide equal distribution of COVID-19 vaccines across the globe.

Still, Vergeire said that once the Philippines receives the vaccines the DOH could begin deployment after two-three days. As per the article, Vergeire stated:

Definitely ‘pag dumating ‘yung bakuna after 2 to 3 days we will start the deployment already. We will start the vaccination already makatapos dumating dito

The Philippines is set to receive around 10 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines via the COVAX facility in the first quarter of 2021. This includes 117,000 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech’s COVID-19 vaccines.

Meanwhile, according to Vaccine Czar Carlito Galvez Jr., simulations for vaccine deployment was a huge success and was faster than anticipated.
