Marikina Mayor Says Mega Vaccination Facility, Vaccinators Ready
MARIKINA VACCINATION FACILITY READY – According to Marikina City Mayor Marcelino Teodoro, the city’s mega vaccination facility and vaccinators are ready to roll-out their vaccination program.
Previously, vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. said that vaccine distribution may begin this February. As such, cities like Marikina have been making preparations to begin the campaign.
According to an article from ABS-CBN, Teodoro said:

Furthermore, the Mayor added that they are currently assessing the eligibility of those they would vaccinate. He noted that they need to first ensure that those with pre-existing medical conditions or comorbidity must be evaluated.

Moreover, he said that the city already has 120 trained vaccinators that could inoculate 80 to 100 people per day. Additionally, a care monitoring system was also been prepared.
Along with this, drugs that are used to deal with adverse reactions were also procured in case people get a bad reaction to the vaccine. “Meron din kaming indemnification fund, parang medical and financial assistance kung meron mang adverse effect doon sa mababakunahan“, he added.
More importantly, the Mayor emphasized that they have an uninterrupted power supply going into their cold chain storage. This is important as vaccines need to be stored in a storage with unit with consistently low temperatures.
